The Spire Runbook
Spire is the machine substrate: locally deployed, uncensored inference on Apple silicon, run entirely inside the client’s walls. This runbook is the operational summary; full procedures ship with each deployment.
The deployment
Section titled “The deployment”- Hardware: Mac Studio clusters — unified-memory Apple silicon sized to the client’s model tier.
- Runtime: MLX-served endpoints on the local network. No third-party cloud in the inference path.
- Workloads: adversarial legal simulation, private RAG over privileged material, and the client’s Interactive Codex.
Scorched Earth
Section titled “Scorched Earth”Every Spire deployment carries a rehearsed Scorched Earth reset protocol: the documented path from a compromised or unknown state back to a verified-clean baseline — container teardown, storage reset, and redeployment from signed configuration. Recovery is a procedure, not an improvisation.
Virtualization and teardown
Section titled “Virtualization and teardown”Isolated workloads run in Apple-virtualized containers. Teardown is part of the contract: a container that cannot be destroyed cleanly is treated as a defect, because sovereignty includes the ability to end things.
Verification
Section titled “Verification”A deployment is complete only when its endpoints answer from inside the client’s network with the cloud physically out of the loop — demonstrated, not asserted.
